Tanker drivers carried physical brass keys across 10,000+ farm collection points, creating key duplication risks, internal theft and no digital record of who opened which tanker when. Adulteration and pilferage cost the cooperative NZD 12 million annually, while paper logs were unverifiable and delayed by 48 hours.

Layer 1 – Industry Role & Risk

Dairy tankers are mobile vaults carrying NZD 50,000–100,000 of raw milk per load. A single unrecorded opening at a roadside stop can introduce water, detergent or synthetic milk, endangering 4 billion consumers and brand reputation. Traditional padlocks offered zero geo-fence, zero time-control and zero audit trail. The cooperative adopted Vanma to digitize, geofence and simplify every tanker event across 10,000 vehicles and 10,000+ collection points.
