How to Strengthen Warehouse Safety Management?

Due to social security, accidents, and unsafe factors such as explosive, flammable, corrosive, and toxic substances stored in warehouses, there are greater dangers in warehouse management. Once a safety accident occurs, it may cause a large amount of casualties and material losses. Therefore, it is of great significance to strengthen warehouse safety management.

There are the following four suggestions for warehouse safety management:

1. Guard the Gate and Important Position of the Warehouse

The guard of the warehouse gate is the first line of defense to keep the warehouse public. In addition to being responsible for opening and closing the door, restricting the access of irrelevant personnel, receiving clerks, and checking identity and registration in a timely manner, the gate guard must also check whether the warehousing personnel carries fire sources, explosive and flammable materials, check the fire protection conditions of the vehicles in the warehouse, and direct Vehicles must be driven safely, parked, and registered as vehicles. For important warehouses such as dangerous goods warehouses, valuable goods warehouses, and special goods warehouses, it is necessary to arrange full-time personnel to guard them to restrict access to irrelevant personnel to prevent harm, damage, and theft.

2. Strengthening Patrol

Require security guard to regularly patrol the entire warehouse with patrol wand. Security guards should ask suspicious persons, check the defense work of various departments, close unattended offices, close warehouse doors and windows, turn off the power supply, prohibit embezzlement of fire-fighting equipment, check whether there are abnormal phenomena in the warehouse, etc. If there is an abnormal situation, corresponding measures shall be taken to deal with it or the competent authority shall be notified.

3. Strengthen Anti-theft Measures

The key to the management of warehousing is “in and out.” Because of the daily import and export, the flow of people and trucks in the warehouse is large, and the traditional access control management is cumbersome and requires a lot of human resources supervision. While consuming human resources, the accuracy of access information is still not guaranteed, and incidents that lead to the loss of goods occur from time to time.

In the selection of door locks, the warehouse needs to have a record of unlocking, and track when a certain person unlocked the lock so that when an accident occurs, the person responsible for the accident can be quickly found. Because warehouses usually use the most common mechanical locks, it only takes a few minutes at the hardware store to copy an identical key. Therefore, we need to restrict access to warehouse door locks. It is recommended to use passive electronic locks for management to improve the controllability of unlocking permissions.

In addition to full-time security guards, the anti-theft equipment used in the warehouse also has CCTV, automatic alarm equipment, etc. The warehouse should reasonably configure the equipment in accordance with the regulations, and special personnel is responsible for operation and management to ensure its effective operation.

4. Make Emergency Plan

The public security emergency plan refers to the system for taking emergency measures to prevent and reduce the loss caused by the accident in the warehouse, such as theft, fire, etc. The public security emergency plan should clearly define the responsibilities of emergency personnel, stipulate the information release and transmission methods of incidents, and conduct frequent drills.
