Professional Meter Box Lock Ensures Safety
On June 15, a newspaper reported that a roadside electric box in Beijing’s Dongcheng District had no electric box lock and the door was open, posing potential safety hazards. After the article appeared in the newspaper, it attracted great attention from the Dongcheng District Urban Management Committee and immediately coordinated the property rights unit China Unicom for remediation.
After on-site investigation, the property rights of several electrical boxes reflected in this problem are China Unicom. It was verified with China Unicom that the opening of these electrical box doors was mainly caused by the failure to close the electrical box lock-in time after China Unicom installed the telephone line. The District Urban Management Committee has asked Unicom to further strengthen the construction site management and safety measures, emphasizing that the electric box lock must be closed in time after construction. As of 15:00 on June 15th, the doors of several electrical boxes reflected in the problem have been closed, eliminating potential safety hazards.
It is a very dangerous act not to lock the electric box door. In Jingshan City, there was an accident in which the right palm of a 10-year-old child was penetrated because the electric box lock was not locked in time. If the distribution box is not installed with an electric box lock that meets the safety regulations, it will be easily opened by passers-by, and there is a great potential safety hazard. The electric box lock must also have a standard and reasonable design structure, which is not easy to lose and destroy, waterproof, shockproof, anticorrosive, and can be used in various harsh environments.
