After years of development, passive smart locks have shown different development trajectories under different application environments in different industries. The supporting keys and management software functions are also more detailed.

  • In the power industry, taking the substation as an example, it has gradually developed into a five-prevention system and a terminal for preventing miss operation. The main function is to standardize operating permissions and prevent safety accidents; another application in the power industry is various metering cabinets the security of measurement is an intelligent requirement to prevent the illegal opening of measurement instruments and prevent electricity theft.
  • In the communications industry, it is mainly used in optical transfer boxes and other cabinets. The role is to strengthen management, cooperate with smart keys and management software, introduce efficient management of a large number of transfer boxes, and clarify the responsibilities, and the unlocking is well documented.
  • During the transportation of special transportation, valuable or dangerous goods, in order to avoid the disadvantages of traditional locks and keys that are easily opened by technology, passive smart locks can be installed.

3. Development of management software
Management software is becoming more and more segmented for applications in different industries, and the need for customization is also increasing, such as miss operation prevention, remote authorization, remote data synchronization in the power industry, and so on.

4. Locks and keys
Many locks are used outdoors or in environments that require high maintenance-free and long-term trouble-free work for the locks. The requirements for the locks’ dustproof, waterproof, and rust-proof functions are getting higher and higher.

Due to the lock structure and passive limitations, many advanced functions need keys to achieve, and the subsequent development of keys will be more intelligent.
