How Does the Access Control System Protect the Safety of the Museum?
The museum is to protect objects and handicrafts of historical significance, usually irreplaceable value items. In recent years, art theft and illegal trade of culturally valuable items have been on the rise.
In 2018, there were more than 8,500 crimes around the world, of which about 91,000 cultural relics were stolen, but this is not all. Law enforcement agencies have confiscated nearly 223,000 cultural relics this year.
No country is immune to cultural theft and trade. What we can do is to use the current technology to make thieves no chance.
The traditional combination of security systems, physical barriers, closed-circuit television, motion sensing, and civil air defense is the most standard, but physical access control is an important tool to raise the security of any museum to a new level. The Vanma smart lock can do it well.
Flexible authorization
In order to maintain a strict security level, the administrator stipulates that only authorized persons can be granted access to the safe areas and exhibits. And time is also required, employees can only be accessed at a specified time.
Audit function
For museums, it is also very important to know when and where employees entered. It is not uncommon for employees to steal from guards. If they take advantage of their positions, theft will become easier, and it will be difficult for managers to catch suspects. But with the audit function, managers can view the switch lock records and find suspicious persons.
Two-factor authentication
Vanma smart lock can choose the key model, and the museum has chosen the key with fingerprint authentication function. Employees need to perform fingerprint authentication before unlocking, otherwise they will not be able to unlock the door. After fingerprint authentication, the key will communicate with the lock. After the second authentication, the lock can be unlocked, which ensures the safety of museum items.
