The Challenge
In an era where telecommunication infrastructure is as critical as the electricity grid, Malaysia Telecom faced a daunting challenge: securing their extensive network of outdoor equipment against theft, vandalism, and environmental hazards. The utility boxes, distributed across diverse and often remote locations, required an advanced solution to ensure the consistent safety and stability of their telecommunications supply.
“The complexity of managing a vast array of utility boxes, each a potential point of failure due to unauthorized access, called for a sophisticated lock management system,” said the project leader at Malaysia Telecom. With the need for a unified oversight that could prevent tampering and manipulation, the company sought a smart lock solution that could provide detailed insights into the access events of each utility box.
